Car leasing giant Arval has confirmed that contract hire is on the up, as it revealed that it now leases over one million vehicles across the 28 countries where it operates.

This is a significant increase on last year when, in November, Arval had a total fleet of 949,00 vehicles. That was prior to its £1.8bn takeover of GE Fleet Services however, which added up to 160,000 vehicles to the number in the process.

The company operates a range of services and deals with everything from large international corporations to small businesses and individual professionals. Founded in 1989, Arval is owned and operated by BNP Paribas and is one of the world’s leading fleet management services.

Philippe Bismut, Arval CEO, said: “I am very proud of this achievement which has been made possible thanks to our employees in every country and I deeply congratulate and thank them.

He added: “Even more important than this milestone, our ambition is to offer our clients best in class services always combining human and digital dimensions.”
