In 2015 Aston Martin will be celebrating the 60th anniversary of its Works in Newport Pagnell, Buckinghamshire, by revealing a limited-edition Vanquish derivative.

Just six of the Aston Martin Works 60 Vanquish will be made, each harking back to a specific era of the Aston Martin Works’ history.

Built by Aston’s Q division, the special edition cars are distinguished by yellow Works detailing, alloys and side strakes.

Inside, the rotaries accenting major switchgear are made from a recycled piston from an Aston Martin of the decade being celebrated. For example, the rotaries in the car celebrating 1995 to 2005 are made from a V8 Vantage piston, while the car dedicated to 1965 to 1975 uses metal from a DB5’s piston. There is also yellow contrast stitching, Works branding on the treadplates and white and black duotone seats.

Under the skin, the special cars get all the features of the standard Vanquish, including the 6.0-litre V12 engine with 568bhp, which propels the car to 62mph in 3.6 seconds and on to a top speed of 201mph.

Dr Matthew Bennett, general manager of VIP and Q by Aston Martin Sales at Gaydon, said: “Celebrating the past, but pointing very much toward a bright and exciting future, too, these Vanquish models will, I’m sure, very quickly become a notable feature of the brand’s history at Newport Pagnell.”
