Dorset County Council is the latest satisfied adopter of Chevin Fleet Solution’s FleetWave solution.

The local authority’s highway operations switched to the web-based vehicle management software with the aim of increasing how much information it could hold and generate on its vehicle fleet.

After looking at various possible options, the council opted for FleetWave due to its user friendly nature, flexibility and how easily the system could be modified even with limited IT knowledge.

Emily Smith, Dorset County Council’s Senior Fleet Technical Officer, explained: “FleetWave has now been in place for over eight months and we are very pleased with the degree of visibility and reporting functionality that it provides. It is working very well for us.

“In the near future, we are planning to increase our reporting capabilities by adopting a number of other modules to help us manage amongst other things our specialist plant assets, fleet finances and enhance our driver information.”

Ashley Sowerby [pictured], Managing Director at Chevin, said: “Our work with public sector fleets has been a traditional Chevin strength and we are very pleased to be working with Dorset County Council’s Dorset Highways Operations.”

Chevin’s FleetWave is used to manage around 700,000 fleet vehicles around the world with customers including St Gobain Transport, Bristol City Council, Honda Motor Europe and Marie Stopes International.
