2018 Dacia Duster: UK deliveries due in July
First deliveries for the all-new Dacia Duster will begin in July, with entry-level models costing from just £9,995.
While it retains the same platform as before, it features a more upmarket look, improved tech and updated engines. Here’s what you need to know.
Despite looking largely the same as the outgoing mode, not one panel has been carried over on to the new car. At the front, there’s a new grille that now extends to the headlights which have also had a refresh.
A new lighting signature also features, while the bonnet and a large satin-chrome skid plate give the front a more assertive appearance.
The new car is slightly higher too, which becomes obvious side-on. Its belt line is raised, while beefed up wheel arches give the new car a chunkier look. New four-stack rear lights complete the Duster’s external makeover.
The cabin benefits from a comprehensive update too, with a totally redesigned dashboard enhancing its look and feel. Ergonomics have been improved thanks to a repositioned infotainment system, while extra cubby holes have been added to boost practicality.
From launch, the new Duster will be available with either a 1.2-litre petrol or 1.5-litre diesel, both of which produce 113bhp. The petrol is capable of a combined 43.5mpg, while the diesel gets a claimed 64.2mpg. Both come as standard with a six-speed manual gearbox, while the petrol can be equipped with an four-wheel drive system for an extra £2,000.
There are four trim levels to choose from; Access, Essential, Comfort and Prestige. The back to basics Access model features 16in steel wheel and front electric windows. Essential trim (from £11,595) adds a different set of steel wheels, body-coloured bumpers, air conditioning, Bluetooth and a DAB radio.
Comfort trim (from £13,195) adds new 16in ‘Cyclade’ alloy wheels, front-seat armrest, leather steering wheel, graphite cloth upholstery, rear parking camera and sensors, electric front and rear windows, heated and electrically adjustable door mirrors, a 7in touchscreen infotainment system.
Range-topping Prestige trim (from £14,395) adds 17in ‘Diamond-cut’ alloy wheels, a multi-view camera, blind spot warning, climate control and keyless entry.
Order books open on 11 June, with the first deliveries commencing in July, so you can expect lease deals to be available soon. In the meantime, check out these lease deals on the current Duster for less than £200 per month.
