Fabia Estate to go on sale in December with £12.5k starting price
Pricing and specifications have been announced for the new, third-generation Skoda Fabia Estate, which will go on sale in December with a £12,460 starting price.
Based on the new Skoda Fabia hatchback, the Estate promises even more practicality in the shape of a 530-litre boot – a 200-litre expansion over the hatchback. It has the same weight-saving, MQB-derived modifications too, meaning the car is 65kg lighter than its predecessor and up to 17% more efficient.
The Estate inherits most of the hatchback’s engine range, with the exception of the 1.0-litre 59bhp engine, which was only available in the basic S model. As a result, the entry-level Estate comes with the 74bhp version of the little three-cylinder engine.

At £12,460, it costs just £1,000 more than its hatchback sister and comes with a pretty much identical specification. Bluetooth, digital radio, electric mirrors, USB and AUX connectivity and stop/start. Available powertrains include the 74bhp 1.0-litre, a four-cylinder 1.2 with 109bhp and an automatic gearbox and a 1.4-litre diesel engine with 89bhp and the choice of manual or automatic transmission.
Upgrading to the mid-spec SE model (expected to be the top seller) will cost an extra £1,445, but there’s a greater choice of engines, including a manual version of the 109bhp 1.2 and an 89bhp version of the same engine, which is expected to be the best seller.
As you’d expect though, extra equipment is the big selling point of the SE, which comes with a leather-trimmed steering wheel, 15in alloy wheels, manual air conditioning and a 6.5in infotainment screen with MirrorLink, which allows the occupants to control a paired smartphone from the touchscreen.
With a starting price of £14,755, SE L trim commands a £850 premium over the SE and includes kit like 16in alloys, climate control, a front armrest, keyless go and LED daylight running lights. It also offers a more potent version of the 1.4-litre diesel engine with 104bhp.
