Pricing and specs for four-door Honda Civic saloon revealed
Following the announcement of a four-door saloon variant of the popular Honda Civic, pricing and specs have been revealed ahead of its availability in August.
Priced from £19,395 OTR for the 129PS VTEC Turbo SE up to £27,120 OTR for a top-spec EX diesel automatic, the four door saloon has been engineered from the ground up and represents a significant step forward for Honda in the C-segment.
Available in both petrol and diesel, the petrol engine will be the same 1.0 i-VTEC currently available on the Civic hatchback and comes in either CVT or manual.
The 1.6 i-DTEC diesel was launched earlier this year in hatchback form and will be available with the same manual transmission or a new nine-speed automatic.
The all-new Civic saloon offers a more subtly sporty look than the hatchback, featuring a short front overhang and taut lines that reference its efficient aerodynamics.
Similar to the hatchback, the new wider and longer platform results in class-leading interior space.
The interior features a simple, uncluttered layout and exceptional refinement while the low seating position gives the driver a greater feeling of connection with the car.
The new saloon also combines unrivalled passenger and luggage space with versatile, practical usability.
Trim levels will mirror those of the existing hatchback model with SE, SR and EX trims available.
Entry level grade SE comes with collision mitigation braking system, forward collision warning, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, road departure mitigation, adaptive cruise control and traffic sign recognition. The petrol CVT and diesel automatic both come with low speed following.
SR grade adds rain sensing auto wipers, dual climate control air conditioning, parking sensors and Honda CONNECT (Apple CarPlay and Android Auto) and a rear parking camera. The EX trim further includes leather seats, smart entry and start, LED headlights with washers, LED fog lights, wireless phone charging and heated rear seats.
“The arrival of the four door variant now completes the line-up for the Civic family in the UK,” commented Phil Webb, Head of Car at Honda UK.
“With the hatchback and the four door now available, we have a strong Civic range whether it’s a corporate or retail customer looking for a car.”
