Megane range gains new Renaultsport 275 Trophy
Following the recent facelift, Renault’s Megane range now adds a new limited edition, performance star performer.
The new Megane Renaultsport 275 Trophy is the latest edition in a long line of Renaultsport models, which began with the 265 Trophy in 2011 and continued with the Red Bull Racing RB8.
In its newest incarnation, the Renaultsport model delivers an extra 10hp of power thanks to extensive work undertaken by Renault’s engineers. That brings total power up to 275hp reached at 5,500rpm. At the same time, maximum torque (360Nm) is available across a broad rev-band, from 3,000 to 5,000rpm.
Despite this, Renault has managed to minimise the damage to fuel consumption to reach 37.7mpg on a combined cycle while emissions are held down at 174g/km CO2.
Equipment includes the options for Öhlins Road & Track dampers with steel springs, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres and standard 19-inch black Speedline Turini wheels. An Akrapovic titanium exhaust system comes as standard for a sporty engine note.
Inside the 275 Trophy model comes with leather and Alcantara Recaro bucket seats with red stitching. The same hue of stitching has been carried over to the rear bench seat, while the headrests feature Renaultsport badging. Other interior highlights include visible red stitching for the Alcantara steering wheel trim and handbrake gaiter, as well as an alloy gear lever knob.
The new model will make its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed next month, when UK pricing and specifications will also be confirmed. First deliveries are expected to commence in October.
