Mercedes-Benz B Class: pricing and specs revealed for plug-in hybrid variant

Mercedes has announced its B 250 e plug-in hybrid mini MPV will be priced from £35,280.

The B 250 e features a 1.3-litre petrol engine, which generates 158 hp and 230 Nm, with an additional 101 hp and 330 Nm available from the electric motor.

The on-board battery has a total useable capacity of 10.6 kWh which equates to an all-electric range of up to 42 miles.

In combination, the B 250 e can deliver up to 235.4 combined mpg and emits just 27 g/km of CO2 meaning company car drivers will pay only six per cent BIK in the 2020-21 tax year.

AMG Line Executive models (£35,280) come as standard with a 10.25in MBUX multimedia system featuring ‘Hey Mercedes’ virtual assistant; privacy glass; heated front seats; Thermotronic climate control; 18-inch five-twin-spoke alloy wheels; Android Auto and Apple CarPlay; Parking package; Mirror package; and wireless charging.

AMG Line Premium (£36,780) adds a 10.25-inch digital cockpit; augmented reality for navigation; Keyless-Go locking and unlocking; ambient lighting; illuminated doorsills with ‘Mercedes-Benz’ lettering; and Mercedes-Benz advanced sound system.

The range-topping AMG Line Premium Plus (£38,280) adds a panoramic sunroof; Multibeam LED headlights; memory seats for driver and front passenger; and Traffic Sign Assist.

An 8G-DCT automatic transmission comes as standard, along with a 7.4 kW AC on-board charger. The only standalone option for the B 250 e – available solely on AMG Line Premium Plus – is the Driving Assistance package for an additional £1,495.
