The large coupe has always been the supreme pinnacle of our model range and that's why it's now called the "S-Class" again."
Sure to be of most interest is the world-first of the new curve tilting function which comes as part of the MAGIC BODY CONTROL system. The S-Class Coupe literally leans into corners, just like a motorcyclist does, this reduces lateral acceleration and improves comfort and driving pleasure. The Coupe has the capability of leaning up to an angle of 2.5 degrees, depending on vehicle speed. The suspension uses the stereo camera located behind the windscreen to make its calculations as it scans the road ahead.
As with the saloon, the Coupe is available with all the brand’s latest kit, making it one of the safest and most comfortable cars ever built. The list of ‘Intelligent Drive’ systems available includes PRE-SAFE, DISTRONIC PLUS, BAS PLUS, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Adaptive High-beam Assist Plus and Night View Assist Plus.
One of the outstanding aesthetic statements of the new model is the inclusion of a huge panoramic roof, extending over two-thirds of the entire roof. While, MAGIC SKY CONTROL makes it possible to switch the transparency of the roof at the push of a button, from light to dark.
Initially the model will launch with a single variant, the S 500 Coupe, and comes powered by a 4663 cc V8 biturbo engine, with 455hp available and a peak torque of 700 Nm. The sporty experience is further magnified by the inclusion of an enhanced exhaust system.
