Mercedes-Benz GLC 2019: Pricing and specs revealed
Mercedes-Benz has revealed the refreshed version of its popular GLC will be priced from £39,420 for the 220 d 4MATIC Sport SUV.
At the top of the range, the GLC 220 d 4MATIC AMG Line Coupe will be priced from £44,045.
Two engines will be available in the UK from launch. The GLC 220 d features a 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine, which produces 194hp and 400 Nm of torque. It can travel from 0 to 62 mph in 7.9 seconds and has a top speed of 134 mph, achieving 40.9 mpg and emitting 137 g/km of CO2. The Coupe delivers up to 41.5 mpg and emits 145 g/km of CO2.
The GLC 300 d is also powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine, with an output of 245hp and 500 Nm of torque. It can reach 62 mph from standstill in 6.5 seconds and has a top speed of 144 mph. The SUV delivers up to 39.2 mpg and emits 157 g/km of CO2, while the Coupe can achieve 39.8 mpg and emits 159 g/km of CO2.
The GLC 220 d will be offered in Sport, AMG Line and AMG Line Premium trims, while the 300 d is offered with AMG Line Premium, AMG Line Premium Plus and AMG Line Premium Plus Ultimate configurations.
Sport models come with 18-inch alloy wheels as standard, as well as a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system complete with reversing camera and ‘Hey Mercedes’ voice activation. The AMG Line adds 19in wheels, adaptive dampers as well as sport seats and sport bodystyling including AMG front apron with air intakes.
Similar to the recent C-Class update, the GLC features a variety of subtle changes on the outside with c-shaped LED lights and reshaped vents on the bumper sticking out. Along the side, the GLC now features chrome along the lower sills with new alloy wheel designs also.
Step inside and the interior mirrors that of the C-Class, sharing the same dashboard layout as well as many of the tech innovations found in the saloon such as the latest version of the 10.25in MBUX infotainment system. This comes as standard in all Sport models.
A 12.3in digital driver display is split into three sections which can be customised via the new multifunction steering wheel to relay the information you require.
The new GLC also boasts a range of new and improved safety features. These include an exit warning function to prevent opening the doors into pedestrians and cyclists, emergency corridor function which can steer between lanes in an emergency. Also new is Trailer Manoeuvring Assist, which can help with reversing manoeuvres while towing.
