Mercedes-Benz GLC 2019: Facelift offers new engines and updated tech
Mercedes-Benz have revealed a refreshed version of their popular GLC SUV, promising big tech updates throughout as well as a new range of engines.

Similar to the recent C-Class update, the GLC features a variety of subtle changes on the outside with c-shaped LED lights and reshaped vents on the bumper sticking out. Along the side, the GLC now features chrome along the lower sills with new alloy wheel designs also.
Step inside and the interior mirrors that of the C-Class, sharing the same dashboard layout as well as many of the tech innovations found in the saloon such as the latest version of the 10.25in MBUX infotainment system.
A 12.3in digital driver display is split into three sections which can be customised via the new multifunction steering wheel to relay the information you require.
Promising an engine line-up that is more powerful and fuel efficient than ever before, two petrol and three diesel options all featuring four cylinders will be available at launch.
Equipped with all-wheel drive, three engines will be available from launch. The GLC 300 petrol engine is 2.0l turbocharged offering 258hp and 38mpg.
The petrol engine also utilises a new 48-volt on-board electrical system with belt-driven starter-generator to offer important hybrid functions such as energy recovery, boost and sailing mode.
In spite of this, the most efficient models at launch will be the two diesel options, the GLC 220d or 300d. These offer 194hp and 245hp and can achieve 48-54.3mpg.
The new GLC also boasts a range of new and improved safety features. These include an exit warning function to prevent opening the doors into pedestrians and cyclists, emergency corridor function which can steer between lanes in an emergency. Also new is Trailer Manoeuvring Assist, which can help with reversing manoeuvres while towing.
Prices for the revised GLC range have yet to be confirmed.
