Porsche Macan makes UK debut in Harrods window display
The all-new Porsche Macan has made its UK debut on the Brompton Road in Knightsbridge, home of the world famous Harrods department store. Passers-by can, until 5 February, get a closer look at the German brand’s first foray into the compact sports utility segment as part of a turbo-charged window display, sharing the limelight with a 911 Turbo S and a Panamera S E-Hybrid.
“We are delighted to be able to show the new Porsche Macan here at Harrods in London throughout January,” said Ragnar Schulte, Marketing Director, Porsche Cars Great Britain. “It is a great opportunity to see the car since it will not be arriving at the official Porsche Centres until the beginning of April.”
Porsche also has a scale model of the 887 hp 918 Spyder plug-in hybrid on display at the department store. The super sports car combines a V8 engine with two electric motors, proving its exceptional performance the 918 blitzed the Nürburgring race track in just 6 mins 57 secs – a production car lap record.
Fans looking to get a closer look at any of the Porsche metal on display can do so between 10am and 8pm, with friendly staff on hand to answer any questions, there will also be a number of invite-only evening reception to formally introduce the Macan to prospective buyers.

The new Macan will launch this April in three flavours, regardless of model they all feature Porsche’s all-wheel drive system and PDK double-clutch transmission. The Macan S Diesel, with a 258hp 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine, the Macan S comes powered by a 340hp 3.0-litre V6 twin-turbocharged engine and the range-topping Macan Turbo receives a 400hp 3.6-litre V6 twin-turbocharged engine. The Macan takes 6.3 seconds to complete its 0-62mph sprint, the Macan S just 5.2 seconds and the Macan Turbo a seriously swift 4.8 seconds.
