Prestige extends Leaseplan SMR contract until 2018
Prestige Fleet Servicing will provide service, maintenance and repair (SMR) facilities for vehicle management firm LeasePlan UK until February 2018 after a two-year contract extension was secured. The original contract has been in place since early 2010.
Leaseplan is currently the world’s largest vehicle management group, operating almost 1.5 million vehicles in 32 countries; more than 140,000 of those vehicles are based in the UK.
Neil Dixon, LeasePlan UK’s Head of Procurement and Supplier Management, said Prestige should continue to play an important role in “exceeding drivers’ expectations”.
“Prestige understands and consistently demonstrates this customer-first approach to service,” he commented. “They have a flexible and technically innovative attitude to driver needs, and a clear commitment to operational efficiency.”
Colin Bate, Prestige Group Managing Director [pictured], believes the contract extension represents “an endorsement of the values we hold dear”.
He added: “Our growing fleet specialist network of service centres work consistently hard to deliver the technical quality and driver service levels so necessary to a client of LeasePlan’s stature and size.
“And we will continue to develop innovative communication and service delivery processes through our unique Unity operating and processing platform, which is already being utilised in support of LeasePlan’s drive for ever improving driver and customer solutions.”
In July, LeasePlan announced that the company has been acquired by a group of long-term investors for around €3.7 billion (roughly £2.6bn).
