Price drop for Skoda’s Rapid Spaceback
Skoda has dropped the price of its Golf-sized hatchback, the Rapid Spaceback, by between £1,290 and £1,905 as the Czech brand strives to make the model more popular.
That could see leasing deals slashed by around £30-£45 per month, depending on variant.

The basic 1.2-litre S model now starts from £13,500 – £1,300 less than before – but nothing has changed in terms of engines and specification, so that money will still buy you electric windows, electrically adjustable mirrors, stop/start, remote central locking and a height- and reach-adjustable steering wheel.
Savings are even greater further up the range, where the SE Tech range has been reduced by between £1,315 and £1,905 depending on engine. The biggest saving is to be had on the 1.4-litre petrol with the twin-clutch automatic transmission. Despite losing nearly £2,000 in list price, it still comes with 16in alloys, tinted glass, a multi-function steering wheel, satellite navigation, climate control and rear parking sensors.
The top-end SE Sport has lost the same amount of money from its ticket price, with the most expensive variant – the 1.4-litre diesel with an automatic gearbox – losing £1,455 to bring it back under the £20,000 mark.
