Is the Range Rover Evoque Convertible the most divisive car ever?

We all have our own preferences when it comes to cars; beauty is in the eye of the beholder after all. But there are some vehicles that divide opinion more than any other. They are the four-wheel equivalent of Kanye West or Katie Hopkins.

But we think we’ve found the mothership of Marmite cars - Range Rover’s new Evoque Convertible.

Range Rover has taken the roof off its Evoque in the hope of creating a new niche, but what do people think?

Not content with its already eye-catching range of SUVs, Range Rover has turned its hand to chopping the roof off its hugely popular crossover to create what it claims is the world’s first luxury convertible SUV. It does bring a breath of fresh air to the Evoque line-up, which hasn’t seen major changes since its launch way back in 2008.

After much debate in the office, we reached out to our 60,000 Facebook fans to see just what people thought of the car’s looks. We were inundated with responses…

Some people love it…

A new niche?

Whether or not there’s a market for such convertible SUVs, we’re pretty certain the Evoque Convertible will find quite a few homes. Combining Range Rover’s upmarket utility with drop-top fun might just be a stroke of genius.

Over the top, or a stroke of genius? Opinion on the Evoque Convertible is divided...

After all, it’s actually quite a good car and, under the shouty colours and gaudy fabric roof lies a more than competent off-roader. It is made by Land Rover after all…
