Nissan reveals £23.5k e-NV200 seven-seater
Nissan has announced the launch of its all-electric e-NV200 seven-seater, which will cost upwards of £23,400 (including the £5,000 government grant) when it goes on sale in July.
The company cites customer demand as the main reason for introducing the new model, claiming that private hire and shuttle services are “keen to see its introduction.”
Nissan says that the despite the addition of the sixth and seventh seats, the e-NV200 is still as practical as ever. With the second and third rows folded away, there is a total load capacity of 2.94 cubic metres, and even with all three rows in place, there is an 807-litre luggage bay. Nissan is even adamant that the third row of seats is capable of seating adults in comfort.
Using the same running gear as a Leaf and fitted with the body from an NV200 van, the e-NV200 will be capable of 106 miles on a single charge and will take 30 minutes to charge from zero to 80% when using a rapid charger.
The £23,400 asking price includes a battery, although customers can choose to purchase the vehicle and then lease the battery, in which case the e-NV200 MPV will cost £19,895 while battery leases cost between £73.20 and £127.20, depending on the mileage and the length of the lease.
At the same time as introducing the seven-seater, the Japanese manufacturer is introducing a new top trim level for passenger-carrying e-NV200s with either five or seven seats. Called Evalia, the new specification offers all the luxurious optional extras available for the e-NV200 in one package. As a result, goodies like privacy glass and co-ordinated external detailing are included in the £515 premium.
