Subaru launches ‘Black’ limited edition XV
Subaru has announced a new limited edition version of its XV compact crossover. Known as ‘Black’ it is based on the existing SE model but adds an exclusive Crystal Black Silica paint finish, several exterior changes, such as mudflaps and underguards, and heavy-duty rubber floor mats to cope with muddy boots. All said the extra goodies amount to an additional £1,600 worth of kit, however the Black carries just a £1,000 premium over the base model – giving the customer a saving of £600.
Benefiting from a five-star Euro NCAP score, and achieving a 90 per cent score for child occupant protection, the XV is officially one of the safest compact crossovers on the road, while the 2.0-litre diesel can return 50.4 miles to the gallon on the combined cycle and emits 146g/km of CO2. The ‘XV Black' models are available with either Subaru's 2.0-litre Boxer diesel engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission, or the 2.0-litre Boxer petrol unit and a Lineartronic automatic transmission.
Based on the mid-spec SE, the Black also comes kitted out with 17-inch alloy wheels, daytime running lights, heated front seats, cruise control, folding door mirrors, dual-zone air-conditioning, rear view safety camera, Bluetooth and rear privacy glass.
