Toyota revises GT86 range and drops entry price
Toyota is revising its GT86 to keep up with the competition, dropping its entry-point priced by more than £2,000 to £22,995.
That puts it back on track with the Subaru BRZ, which is already priced at £22,495.
To match its rival to the pound, Toyota will also be pricing its GT86 from £22,495 for a limited time, saving customers an extra £500.
The new entry level model is called Primo and comes with 17-inch alloys, manual transmission, limited-slip differential, aluminium sports pedals, air conditioning, power-folding door mirrors, front fog lamps, twin tailpipes, the Toyota Touch multimedia system, Bluetooth and a new tyre pressure monitoring system.
Available to order now, deliveries start from January. Personal leasing deals on the Toyota GT86 are available here.

At the heart of the range is the classic GT86 which adds on top of the Primo specification; rear spoiler, keyless entry, push-button start, cruise control, dual-zone climate control, dusk-sensing HID headlights, LED daytime running lights and the option of automatic transmission.
Then there is the Aero model which adds a striking body kit, with large rear spoiler and front, side and rear skirts. This is complemented by a set of 18-inch OZ Ultraleggera alloy wheels with an anthracite grey finish.
Limited edition
These core models are now joined by a new special edition GT86 Giallo which features special Giallo Edition black leather seats, a black GT86 side decal, gloss black door mirror housings and vibrant Giallo yellow metallic paintwork. That’s not all either; Toyota has also created a new Carbon Pack available for all versions of the GT86, costing £395 which adds carbon-effect door mirror covers and rear bumper protection plate, plus rear parking sensors.
Music quality improved with the JBL Pack, for £1,100 which comprises nine speakers and a 440W DSP amplifier.
The Toyota Touch multimedia system can also be upgraded to Toyota Touch with Go, for an extra £750, which provides satellite navigation, controlled using the centrally mounted 6.1-inch touchscreen display.
