Macclesfield FC make it back-to-back promotions at Leasing.com stadium
Macclesfield FC were crowned Northern Premier League - West Division champions after defeating Trafford FC at the Leasing.com stadium.
Goals from Dan Sweeney, Alex Curran, and Neil Kengni saw the Silkmen runout 3-1 winners and with victory, made it back-to-back promotions, after they were also crowned 2021/2022 North-West Counties Premier Division champions.
Going on an impressive 22 match unbeaten run in the Northern Premier League, Neil Dann’s side accumulated 90 points during the campaign, winning 28 of their 38 league matches, which saw Macclesfield win the league by an impressive 14 points.
Rounding off their home fixtures for the season with a draw at home to Prescot Cables, the Silkmen lifted the Northern Premier League – West Division trophy, in front of a bumper crowd of 4,701 at the Leasing.com stadium.
After adding more silverware to the cabinet, Macclesfield will be playing in the Northern Premier League – Premier Division and return to the Leasing.com stadium on July 3rd, where they host The New Saints FC in a preseason friendly.
