Facelifted Citroen C4 Picasso coming September
Updated versions of the Citroen C4 Picasso and Grand Picasso will hit showroom floors next month. The two popular MPVs get a refreshed look on the outside and a host of new tech and equipment inside.
From the outside, the new models are set apart by an updated front end, 3D-effect tail lights and new alloy wheels, although the futuristic cabin retains its look.
Exterior updates
The biggest change is at the front where a wider grille and new fog light design now feature. Meanwhile, the Citroen badging and taillights have seen treatment too, giving these futuristic-looking people carrier a fresher look.
Further exterior changes come from the new chrome trim, that’s set apart by 17in allow wheels with ‘Feel’ trim models and above. Opt for the larger, seven-seat Grand C4 Picasso and you’ll get new, integrated roof bars and specific Aluminium trim pieces too.
New tech
That doesn’t mean changes are minimal, though. There are three new interior design schemes, and there’s a host of new technology designed to keep occupants safe and entertained. All updated models get an infotainment system which features a new touchscreen that’s easier to navigate than before.

A TomTom real-time mapping data also features, and can provide up-to-the-minute traffic info and suggest alternative routes.

Clever safety kit
Every model, from the entry-spec Picasso to the top-of-the-range Grand C4 Picasso, will come with a ‘Coffee Break Alert’ system, which notifies the driver when they should take a break.
In addition, speed limit recognition, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control and autonomous emergency braking are also on offer.
The Citroens are also offered with a range of new connected services centred around the new touchscreen system and, equipped with the Apple CarPlay and MirrorLink smartphone connectivity systems and 3D satellite navigation, the set-up can also be voice-activated.
Updated underpinnings
Some new engine and gearbox combinations have been made available, the most significant being a 6-speed automatic gearbox that’s now mated to the 128bhp petrol engine.
This is theoretically capable of 55mpg and should emit no more than 115g/km of C02 – only 8g/km more polluting than the 148bhp diesel.
