2021 Ford EcoSport Active introduces rugged new look

  • 11 Nov 2020

Ford has revealed a new variant of its latest EcoSport in the form of the EcoSport Active.

The EcoSport is the smallest crossover in the Ford range, and this new Active model introduces the same enhancement seen on the Focus Active and Fiesta Active.

That means chunky black body trim around the wheel arches and bumper skirts, a set of model-specific 17in alloy wheels along with a host of black trim pieces.

The EcoSport Active sits among the higher trim levels of the standard model. That means standard kit includes an 8in touchscreen infotainment system that’s compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, cruise control and a rear-view camera.

The upholstery is also unique to the Active model and features a well-wearing fabric with blue details. Options include keyless entry and start, automatic folding mirrors and a range of driver assistance systems.

Available with the most potent 1.0-litre Ecoboost petrol engine, the EcoSport Active produces 125hp and around 200Nm of torque – certainly enough for a car of this size.

It comes as standard with a six-speed manual gearbox. There’s also a 1.5-litre diesel option if you’d prefer something more economical.

The EcoSport Active fits into Ford’s latest strategy of simplifying its trim levels, aiming to offer more standard equipment and a great distinction in its ranges.

No launch date for the EcoSport Active has been confirmed, although we’ll let you know as soon as leasing deals become available.
