Peugeot has given its stunning 508 flagship a facelift, with the saloon and estate set to get tweaked looks, enhanced infotainment and a fresh range of plug-in hybrid drivetrain options.

With deliveries set to commence in June, here’s what we know so far.

Peugeot 508 fast facts

  • New design incorporates new emblem and updated styling
  • Plug-in hybrid range expanded with entry-level and range topper
  • Infotainment gains better voice control system
  • Peugeot Sport Engineered model gets 360hp
  • Available in the UK from June

Peugeot 508 styling

On the outside, quite a lot has been updated. For starters, there’s a fresh grille and front end that incorporates a new Peugeot emblem. The headlights appear even thinner than before and expand way into the bumper with three strips that make up the daytime running lights.

At the rear, the bumper has also had a refresh and there’s a new set of tail lights too to bring the 508 in line with the latest Peugeot models. A fresh set of colours and alloy wheel options finish off the refreshed look.

Peugeot 508 interior and tech

On the surface, not much appears to have changed inside. But that’s not really a surprise – the 508 gets a fabulous interior, with all models featuring a 12in digital driver display and a 10in infotainment system as standard – a larger touchscreen is available on higher trim levels.

The infotainment system itself has received an update, which incorporates a better voice command system. Depending on the trim level you choose, high-quality Nappa leather upholstery is offered, while you’ll find wooden inlays into the dash and centre console.

Peugeot 508 engine options

Several new options are available when it comes to engine choice. A 1.2-litre turbo petrol option and 1.5-litre diesel remain on offer, but an additional plug-in hybrid is now available, and arguably the pick of the range.

Utilising a 1.6-litre petrol engine, it produces 180hp and is capable of around 40 miles on electric power alone. A more potent 225hp option is also available, while the range-topping model (the Peugeot Sport Engineered) features a finely tuned hybrid drivetrain to produce 360hp.

Additional tweaks like a lowered suspension and other chassis tweaks ensure the 508 can cope with the potent power plant. You’ll also notice chunkier trim and larger alloy wheels help mark this model out too.
