Audi A3 styling

Externally, a number of tweaks have been made to set the pair apart from the outgoing model. The grille is a completely fresh design, being wider than before and featuring a different look that brings it in line with larger Audis.

The headlights are also a stand-out feature, with the daytime running lights now offering four different signatures which the driver can choose from. The bumpers – front and rear – have been updated too, while a range of new paints and alloy wheel designs complete the enhancements.

The dashboard has been updated, allowing all models to now feature the 10in digital driver display as standard fitment. Elsewhere, trim has been improved to bring the looks in line with more expensive models.

A 10in infotainment touchscreen is standard across the range, with an updated system supporting things such as Amazon Alexa voice command and a host of other apps too.

Nice touches include an improved gear selector in the centre console, and ambient lighting that’s now present within the cupholders as well as the doors.

Audi A3 drivetrains

From launch, petrol and diesels will be offered, with a plug-in hybrid set to join the range later. Both the 1.5-litre turbo petrol and 2.0-litre turbo-diesel produce 150hp and feature an automatic gearbox as standard.

The S3 has seen in the biggest change, with the potent model seeing a power boost to 333hp – around 20hp extra compared with its predecessor. Combined with an automatic gearbox, the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol gets from 0-62mph in 4.7 seconds.
