BMW iX styling

The iX’s refresh mainly focuses on its underpinnings, but there are some subtle changes to the styling too. Up front, the most notable change is a new LED headlight signature and illuminated grille design.

This change helps mark it out from the outgoing model, while seven new paint options and alloy wheel designs are also available depending on specification. The illuminated grille is an option only, unless you plump for the new M70 xDrive model.

You can also add an M Sport Pro package, that offers optional 23in alloy wheels.

BMW iX interior and tech

The interior remains the same as before, bar a few trim-specific changes. M Sport models get some extra gloss black trim, M-sport seats, M-specific metal pedals and a three-spoke leather steering wheel.

The infotainment system goes unchanged, with BMW’s iDrive 8.5 the operating system of choice. It’s still as user-friendly and responsive as ever.

BMW iX powertrains

The biggest change is under the skin, with all models now getting a larger 94.8kWh battery pack. This offers up to 426 miles of range if you go for the xDrive60 model, while charging speeds for this trim stand at an impressive 195kW.

The M70 replaces the outgoing M60, and ushers in 660hp and a 0-62mph time of under four seconds. You’ll also get a tweaked chassis, with adaptive air ride, M-specific suspension and larger brakes all coming as standard.

The entry-level xDrive45 is slightly less capable than the other models, offering charging speeds of up to 175kW and able to travel up to 374 miles between charges.
