Genesis GV60 Magma: UK pricing and release date revealed
Say hello to the very cool, very orange Genesis GV60 Magma – proof, if you needed it, that Genesis is taking EV performance very seriously.
It’ll get a list price of £75,915 when it arrives in the UK from July. Here’s everything you need to know.

Genesis GV60 Magma: What is it?
The GV60 Magma is Genesis’ first ever high-performance model, and it marks the beginning of the Korean brand’s new “Magma” performance division. Think of it as Genesis’ answer to cars like the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N and Tesla Model Y Performance – only with an even bigger focus on luxury and design.
Based on the standard Genesis GV60 SUV, the Magma version gets a much more aggressive look thanks to a wider stance, lowered ride height and redesigned aerodynamic bodywork. There’s a dedicated rear wing spoiler, bespoke bumpers and massive 21-inch forged alloy wheels wrapped in sticky Pirelli tyres.
The styling is intentionally dramatic too, especially in the launch-spec Magma Orange paint finish. Genesis says the car has been designed to blend “luxury high performance” with everyday usability – so while it’s properly quick, it’s also packed with premium comfort and technology.
Inside, the GV60 Magma gets exclusive bucket seats trimmed in artificial suede, aluminium detailing and a dedicated “Magma” steering wheel button that unlocks the car’s performance driving modes.
Genesis GV60 Magma: Performance stats
Genesis hasn’t held back with the numbers. The GV60 Magma produces a huge 650PS and 790Nm of torque from its upgraded dual-motor electric powertrain.
That’s enough to launch it from 0-62mph in just 3.4 seconds, while top speed is pegged at 164mph. The electric motors can spin at over 20,000rpm, showing just how serious Genesis is about performance engineering.
Power comes from an 84kWh battery pack, and despite the performance focus, charging remains impressive. Using a rapid charger, the GV60 Magma can recharge from 10-80% in as little as 18 minutes.
Handling upgrades include a 20mm lower ride height, wider track and uprated braking system featuring four-piston monoblock callipers and enormous 400mm front brake discs. Genesis says it can stop from 62mph in just 33.8 metres.
There are also five dedicated driving modes, including GT and SPRINT modes, while a specially developed electric Active Sound Design system creates an artificial performance soundtrack inside the cabin.
Genesis GV60 Magma: Interior and trim
Unlike some rivals that offer endless options lists, the GV60 Magma keeps things simple with a single high-spec trim level.
As standard, you get electrically adjustable 10-way bucket seats finished in artificial suede, a huge 27-inch panoramic connected infotainment display and exclusive Magma interior detailing throughout.
Customers can choose between two interior themes: Obsidian Black with Magma Orange stitching or a more subtle Obsidian Black with Ash White stitching.
Genesis will offer the GV60 Magma in nine exterior colours, including matte finishes and the eye-catching Magma Orange hero colour.
As you’d expect from a Genesis, equipment levels are generous, with the brand positioning the GV60 Magma as a fully loaded luxury performance EV rather than a stripped-out track special.
