As stylish as it is spacious
First things first: a quick recap on the Škoda Kodiaq. The Czech manufacturer’s largest SUV, it’s available in five or seven seat configurations, as a petrol, diesel, mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrid (five seat only), and offers five trim levels.
A strong foundation for success, then. And the Kodiaq Edition X builds on that platform confidently, with the addition of striking exterior styling touches including metallic paint, chrome roof rails and a Unique Dark Chrome grille with a horizontal light strip, plus 19” Halti alloys in anthracite.
An impressive standard equipment offering
Not only does the Kodiaq Edition X ooze class, but it also packs a serious punch in equipment terms, building on the already generous specification offered by the entry-level Kodiaq SE.
What does it include? Well, it comes with everything from an electric tailgate to Matrix LED headlights. These allow you to drive with main beam headlights on, and will automatically block out the light for oncoming cars while continuing to light the road for you. Clever, eh?
There’s also an electrically adjustable driver’s seat with power-adjustable lumbar support for those who spend lots of time on the road, and the understated ecoSuite black design selection that combines perforated black leather and artificial leather with a grey dashboard finish.

Efficient engine technology
Let’s talk hybrid capability. Under the bonnet, it’s powered by an efficient 1.5-litre 150PS e-TEC mild-hybrid powertrain – perfect for trips around town. And it’s equally capable of tackling longer journeys, too.
The 48V battery and electric motor it powers help smooth out the start-stop system in heavy traffic and save fuel. On longer trips, the battery provides a welcome burst of additional power – helpful for merging onto motorways – and recharges while you’re coasting. Finally, this drivetrain is paired to a seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox.

You’re spoilt for choice with the wider Škoda Kodiaq line-up, which offers five trims – from entry-level SE up to the sporty vRS and the flagship L&K – as well as five or seven seats (five seats on plug-in hybrid models), plus six powertrain options in total and two-wheel or all-wheel drive.
