DS No8: Everything you need to know
DS has given us a few teasers of its upcoming flagship model – the No8. It’ll be the first model to take on a new naming strategy, and will have a range of 466 miles.
Here’s everything we know about the new model so far.
DS No8 fast facts
- New EV gets coupe-SUV appearance
- All-new interior and enhanced tech
- First car to receive new naming strategy
- 466-mile range would make it class leader
- Full reveal expected by end of the 2024
DS No8 styling
DS has revealed some snaps of the new model, albeit in camouflage. Despite the paint job, it’s easy to see the DS No8 will take a leaf out of the Peugeot 408’s book: it’s a fastback-style coupe SUV.
It gets a raised ride height and a swooping rear end, along with a redesigned front end. DS has confirmed this will essentially be the electric replacement for the DS9.
The new naming strategy means the No8 will be pronounced “Number 8” – think Chanel No5 and you get the idea. It’s likely that other models will follow the same strategy as and when they are revealed.
DS No8 interior and tech
There’s a clear image of the cabin, which is quite a radical departure from what we’ve been used to seeing from the brand. There’s a free-standing touchscreen that dominates the central dashboard area, while the digital driver display is of a hexagonal design.
The four-spoke steering wheel is a new addition too, as is the centre console which appears to float above a large stowage area.
DS No8 range and batteries
There’s no spec details on the powertrain or battery yet, but DS has confirmed the No8 will have a range of up to 466 miles. That would make it one of the longest range EVs, only beaten by the likes of Mercedes’ EQS at the time of writing.
The No8 will be the first DS model in an entirely overhauled line-up that will get electric power. We’ll bring you further details on the new model as and when they’re revealed.
