Ford Kuga styling

The changes on the outside are quite dramatic. Despite the outgoing model not being that long in the tooth, the refreshed Kuga introduces an all-new look. The front appears more sculpted than before, with a sharper grille and a full-width daytime running bar.

The wings appear more elongated too, while a fresh set of bumpers also help set it out. It’s available with a more rugged-looking body trim too, if you opt for the Active version. ST-Line models, on the other hand, feature sportier alloys and a body-coloured bumpers to give it a sport appeal.

Changes at the rear of the car are less dramatic, but it’s an all-round cohesive look that we think looks better than some key rivals. LED headlights and tail lights are now standard across the range.

Ford Kuga interior and tech

The interior has also been thoroughly reworked, now featuring the same updates we’ve recently seen introduced on the Focus. That means a snazzy new infotainment system, which is now a 13in unit. This is a big improvement compared to the outgoing model’s 8in screen.

The driver still gets a digital display too, while there are fewer buttons to worry about. The climate controls have been simplified, and are now operated via the touchscreen interface.

Ford Kuga drivetrains

A host of petrol and hybrid models are offered. The 1.5-litre petrol kicks off the range and produces around 150hp. A new 2.5-litre hybrid model is now available, and can be specified in all-wheel drive or front-wheel drive form.

Compared with the outgoing model, efficiency has improved. It’ll now manage up to 42 miles on electric power alone.
