Skoda Octavia gets an update for 2024
Skoda has given its Octavia range a refresh, ushering in fresh styling, new tech and a more potent vRS model.

Skoda Octavia styling
This is a mid-life update for the Octavia, so there’s no dramatic styling changes. However, there’s a number of subtle changes. Up front, the headlight design has changed and is now more chiselled and integrates into the front bumper.
The bumpers themselves have also changed, with a new design air in take up front and a fresh look at the rear too. A number of new alloy wheel designs have been added, while rear LED tail lights are also noticeably different from the outgoing model.
Skoda Octavia interior and tech
Skoda has significantly upgraded the infotainment offering, with the standard 10in touchscreen now getting ChatGPT functionality to help with voice command. This is now a feature on many new vehicles coming from parent brand Volkswagen.
You’re also now able to opt for a larger 13in screen depending on specification, while Skoda’s “Simply Clever” mantra now extends to the interior courtesy of a tablet holder in the rear seats. The cabin also benefits from a number of new storage cubbies.
Skoda Octavia drivetrains
The engine line-up has been slightly rejigged, although the drivetrains are largely familiar. You can opt for a 1.5-litre unit that is available with 115hp and 150hp. Both are available with either a six-speed manual or automatic gearbox.
The 2.0-litre diesel option consists of two outputs: 115hp and 150hp – just like the petrol. At the top of the range is the vRS. Featuring a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, it now produces 265hp and is the same engine used in the Volkswagen Golf GTI.
All models get a seven-speed DSG gearbox, and produce around 25hp more than the outgoing vRS.
Skoda Octavia release date
