Mazda has taken the covers off a stunning new saloon – the 6e. It follows on from the brand’s first EV – the MX30 – and will be capable of up to 345 miles of range.

Set to launch in 2026, here’s everything we know so far.

Mazda 6e design

The 6e might be an all-new model on an all-new platform, but it carries on where the retired 6 saloon left off – it’s a fantastic design that features a large grille, slick slimline headlights and a sporty fastback rear end.

The side profile is reminiscent of its predecessor, but adds more angular lines that give it a fresh, low-slung look. The model you see here is finished in Mazda’s stunning red, set off by a set of 19in alloy wheels.

At the rear, you get a full-width LED light bar with two rows of LEDs, above which you’ll find an active spoiler. Suffice to say, this is a great looking car.

Mazda 6e interior and tech

The interior is a thing to behold – it’s much more minimalist than any of the current Mazda cabins, and gets a large landscape infotainment system that dominates the dashboard. In front of the driver, you’ll find a vivid digital display.

The centre console cocoons the front occupants and gives the whole cabin a sporty feel. There’ll be some neat optional extras on offer too, including a panoramic sunroof and even an augmented reality head-up display system.

Mazda 6e powertrain

You’ll be able to choose between two batteries at launch, with 69kWh and 80kWh versions available. The former can muster around 300 miles of range, while the larger of the two takes range up to 345 miles

That’s around average for its class, although it’s far better than Mazda’s only other EV, the MX-30 manages. Both models will support fast charging, and both will get from 0-62mph in under eight seconds.

All models will be rear-wheel drive too, which should mean Mazda’s fun-to-drive factor shouldn't be lost on this all-new EV. We’ll bring you further tech specs as and when details are revealed.
