Ford sets out further electric plans with E-Transit teaser
Ford has given us some more details on its upcoming plans for electrification, with a fully electric Puma crossover and E-Transit set to be the first of several new models to arrive by 2024.
Not many details have been revealed about either model – but any other new cars are likely to sit between the Puma and Mustang Mach E in the line-up.
We do know that a new platform sharing scheme means the upcoming cars will use the same tech as cars on Volkswagen’s MEB platform, and will likely be equivalent in size to the ID.3 and ID.4.
Aside from the basic platform, however, they won’t simply be rebadged models (like the Cupra Born, for example). Ford is keen to emphasise the point that they will look, feel and offer very much a Ford experience.
The announcement follows the news that Ford will electrify its entire European range by 2030, with commercial vehicles also getting the EV treatment – there’s a trio of electric vans on the way too with the first being the E-Transit teased in the clip above.
