Renault Megane exterior

On the outside, nothing much as changed. It still looks just like any other Megane, with the styling cues of the brand’s more recent models present.

Two trims will be available; Iconic (from £29,495) and RS Line (from £31,495). Iconic features 16in alloy wheels, while RS Line adds larger 17in alloy wheels and a slick set of body-coloured bumpers.

Likewise, on the inside, things are much the the same as before. There’s a leather steering wheel, 10in digital driver display and an 8in infotainment system that’s compatible with smartphone mirroring on all models.

Other standard features include front and rear parking sensors, traffic sign recognition and automatic headlights. RS Line models add a parking camera and a larger 9.3in infotainment touchscreen.

Renault Megane drivetrains

The two trim levels will both be powered by a 1.6-litre pertrol engine and electric motor combo, which provide a combined output of around 160hp. This gets the Megane to 62mph in under 10 seconds.

On paper, WLTP tests have shown this electrified drivetrain can produce fuel economy of 235mpg and reduce emissions to just 28g/km. In terms of electric-only power, it can travel up to 30 miles without the need for the combustion engine.

Its’ 9.8kWh battery can be charged from 0% to 100% in around four hours if you use a standard domestic plug. The new drivetrain is now the only option on offer if you want a Megane, with the firm discontinuing petrol and diesel-powered models in the UK.
